When I was 2 years old, my mom was diagnosed with severe rheumatoid arthritis. The doctors had never seen such a severe case in someone so young. They told her that if she was in so much pain she should stay still and not move…
She listened to the doctors and became bedridden because her joints and muscles got stiff and weak. She finally said, “I’ve had enough.”
My mom began to work with a degreed and certified personal trainer who helped her increase her range of motion and strength and got her moving again.
This trainer was the game changer for my mom and our family. She gave me my mom back.
When I went to school, I knew I wanted to be a game changer too, so I became an exercise physiologist with a minor in gerontology. For the last 15 years, I’ve been helping older adults and clients with chronic conditions find their vitality and improve their quality of life.
Due to the Pandemic, I was laid off and I knew there would be major consequences if my clients stopped exercising so I opened Golden Oak Personal Training. (And yes, my first client was my mom!)
I quickly realized I could only help so many people in a day so I developed The Living Lively Method.
